A man believed to be in his 60s is understood to have suffered severe head injuries following an accident near Buckie on Wednesday morning.
The accident involved the man on a bicycle and an orange DAF lorry on the A98 Tynet to Lintmill road.
The injured man was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin before later being transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Following the accident at around 9.30am the road was closed between the High Street junction with the A98 in the town and the March Road junction so that police investigations in the cause of the accident could continue.
Police issued an appeal for any witnessed the accident to come forward. A spokesman said: “Inquiries into the circumstances of the collision are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident, or who saw the lorry or the cyclist prior to the collision, to come forward.”
