Police appeal after Buckie pensioner robbed in his own home


Police are appealing for witnesses after a Moray pensioner was threatened with a gun before being robbed of over £200 in his own home.

79-year-old Robert Henderson was alone at home in Linn Crescent in Buckie when a man entered his property and demanded his wallet. The intruder then stood behind the pensioner and ordered him not to turn around or he would be shot.

Police say that the intruder is believed the have then escaped via the back gardens in the direction of Linn Avenue.

A Police spokesman issued an appeal for anyone who may have seen the man or anything suspicious in the area at around 7.25am on Sunday morning.

He said: “Police Scotland are appealing for information following a robbery that occurred in a residence at Linn Crescent, Buckie at around 7.25am on Sunday, December 7.

“A man stole a wallet containing a low three-figure sum from a 79-year-old man.

“The suspect is described as being tall and of thin build. He spoke with a local accent and is believed to have been wearing blue jeans and a light coloured top.”
