Community groups who are run by or assisting older people are being encouraged to apply for grants of up to £1500 through tsiMoray’s recently launched small grants programme.
The programme, funded through the Change Fund, is aimed at Older People’s Groups in the region who are looking for funding for inter-generational projects.
Third sector development officer Elidh Myrvang Brown explained: “The project is an example of participatory budgeting, meaning that it will be older people who decide which projects are awarded money.
“It will be facilitated by tsiMORAY and partners through a series of events taking place in March.
“More details of the events will be promoted once confirmed, but for now we wish to generate interest and attract applications from third sector groups across Moray.”
While the fund is exclusively for work with Older People in Moray, it will also be open to applications from groups who propose to work with Older People through inter-generational projects.
Applications – limited to one per group – can be for a wide variety of items or activities – however, each will be voted on separately so an applying group may win funding for a trip but not for an item they apply for.
The deadline for applications is February 27. Anyone requiring further information or an application form is asked to contact the tsiMORAY office on 01343 541713, leaving their name and address and requesting a Canny Wi’ Cash application form by post.
Applicants will receive confirmation that tsiMORAY has received your application. All applicants, whether successful or not, will be notified of the outcome of the vote.
The voting process will be described on our website shortly – www.tsimoray.org.uk.
