Jack is set to climb new sensory heights for Moray school

The classic pantomime ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ is set to provide a boost for a Moray primary school this month.

Applegrove Primary School in Forres has been chosen as the main beneficiaries for the annual production by local amateur dramatics group the Varis Players.

Each year the group produce their annual fun event at the Forres Town Hall, with the much anticipated show this year the classic Jack versus the Giant Panto by James Barry.

A spokeswoman for the Varis Players said: “Each year we make a donation to a local deserving cause and this year we will be donating to ‘The Wee Room’ at Applegrove Primary School in Forres.

“This facility supports children with special educational needs and aims to assist them to take an active part in the social and educational life of the school.”

The ‘Wee Room’ is a purpose-built suite that contains sensory items, soft play and a care suite with laundry that is used regularly by up to 20 children.

Varis Players will take to the stage from January 22 to January 24 at 7.30pm, with a matinee performance on Saturday, January 24 at 2pm.

Tickets for the Panto are available now priced at £8, £7 and £5 from Sweet Explosion in Forres or by calling 07842 280682 for more information.
