Bigger and better stage design, lighting and above all sound is what awaits Moray’s dance fans when the Longmore Hall in Keith welcomes the return of the Boombox Sessions on March 7.
The incredibly popular sessions ended at the end of 2014 when a local partnership with Audio Carnival was brought to a close. However, they are back with ‘The Reboot’ – and promises an entirely new look and feel.
“It’s hard work setting up nights like these but we love what we do and always enjoy seeing new and old faces turning up at our events,” DJ Rachel Innes told insideMoray this week, adding: “We always appreciate the support we get from the crowd both during and after the event.
“It is because of them that we are able to continue bringing these one-of-a-kind sessions to venues in Keith with the hope of creating a better experience and atmosphere for our crowds each time we host an event.”
Rachel will be joined by Yungruzt, Deej, Dunc and Dallas in two rooms at the Longmore, where tickets will cost £10 and entry is strictly for over-16’s.
Rachel said: “Dunc & Dallas first created this night a few years ago through their passion for DJing and Dance music over the years.
“Both have shared the stage and supported some of the most respected and well known DJs in the UK in the 90’s and early 2000’s at the Love Distinction nights in Elgin, where they were on stage with the likes of Jeremy Healy, Public Domain, Judge Jules and Ian Van Dahl.
“Together they brought Aaron Russell and Rachel Innes on board to form Boombox Sessions.”
Rachel was herself the Hed Kandi 2013 DJ competition winner and has been the centre of the London scene. She was a resident DJ for Hed Kandi and Ministry of Sound while she has also supported the likes of Nicky Romero, Dash Berlin and Jeremy Olander.
Yungruzt (Aaron Russell) was the 2013 Rockness Festival winner and is at the centre of the Aberdeen dance scene, while DEEJ is the newest resident to join the Boombox Sessions crew. He has provided some of the most exciting sets seen at past Boombox events, including his warm up set for Judge Jules last year.
Rachel said: “Our events takes place at The Longmore Hall which we kit out with spectacular sound and lighting equipment.
“We always aim to include those who are under 18 – therefore we host two rooms of entertainment. These are a 16+ room and a strictly over 18’s room, where we also have our licensed bar with all DJs playing across both rooms.
