Creepy creatures set to entrance and educate kids

Scorpions, snakes and an assortment of creepy crawlies are set to keep children entertained in a Moray village this weekend.

The kids are set for a treat when animal expert Becky Rowe visits the Playbarn in Lhanbryde with her collection of unusual pets that includes a Brazilian rainbow boa and an Albino hedgehog.

In her role as a science ambassador, Ms Rowe takes her collection to children’s groups as a means of leading youngsters into learning about the animals. She said: “The animals help to make subjects such as science more interesting and children relate more with them.

“We talk to the kids about endangered species and it helps them to understand the natural world while having a lot of fun at the same time.”

The visit the weekend is the first of monthly sessions at the Playbarn at Greenfields in Lhanbryde, with the first event starting at 4pm on Saturday.
