Serious damage to a garage near Alves was only avoided by the prompt actions of Moray fire crews early on Wednesday afternoon.
Scottish Fire and Rescue crews from Forres and Elgin were called to a blaze at outbuildings alongside the Glenburgie Distillery.
The building at Kilbuiack was smouldering for some time after the fire – however, firefighters had managed to contain it to a single storage shed. Nobody was injured in the incident.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received the emergency call shortly before 3pm reporting that a garage was on fire on an unclassified road near the distillery by Alves.
“Two appliances were sent out – one from Forres and the other from Elgin – and firefighters reached the scene within 10 minutes of the call.
“Four firefighters in breathing apparatus used a single water jet to bring the scene under control and crews then remained in attendance to dampen down any small flames.”
