Buckie’s Over-50’s are being invited to join in the fun and help keep themselves fit and active through ‘walking football’ sessions.
The scheme has already proven a hit when it was trialled in Elgin recently – now the Buckie Community High School is set to host a second series of sessions.
Walking football rules are exactly the same as those for normal five-a-side games – with the essential difference that running is not only frowned upon, it is against the rules of the game!
The Buckie sessions are to be held on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm until 7.30pm and will begin from April 21.
Meanwhile the walking football sessions held on Tuesday mornings at the Elgin Community Centre will continue after a successful four-week trial that saw 16 people taking part – including four women.
The cost is £2.50 per session or free for Fit Life? members. More information is available from Moray Council’s sports development section on 01343 563657.
Over 50s looking to take part should simply turn up at any of the sessions.
