A series of events is to be held to celebrate the twinning of historic Banffshire and the community of Kronach in Bavaria.
Later this year Moray communities will be offered the chance to take in a series of concerts by the Kronach Youth Orchestra, who will be visiting the region – with members of the Kronach Twinning Association arranging fund-raising events to support the visit.
A spokesman for the twinning association said: “The Youth Orchestra will spend a full week based in Cullen in August.
“They will be performing a series of concerts in Elgin, Cullen, Buckie and Keith as well as visiting many of our local sites and attractions, such as the Glen Grant Distillery, Speyside Cooperage, Macduff Aquarium and Ballindalloch Castle.”
The first of what is expected to be a series of fundraising events will be held on Friday, April 24 when a quiz night is taking place at the Ugie House Hotel in Keith.
Doors open at 7.30pm with the quiz starting at 8pm, with entry set at £10 for a table of 4 people. The bar will be open and there will be a raffle on the night.
