A domestic abuse support programme in Moray has been provided with sufficient funding to continue its support programme in the region.
Through their ‘Stronger Safer Families for Women’ initiative, Children 1st has helped mothers and carers to recover from abuse.
Now the project has received a £57,000 funding grant from the Scottish Government that will allow them to continue the programme for another year.
Speaking for Children 1st, Chris Lewis said: “The impact that abuse has on women and children can be devastating, so it is crucial that women are able to access the support that they need to recover from what has happened and to be able to care for and protect their children.
“This funding will allow us to continue with this important work in Moray.”
The initiative has allowed the charity to work with women who are caring for children from pregnancy to 18-years.
