Court: Buckie man told he can go home after plea from partner

A BUCKIE MAN has had a ban from remaining in his family home lifted – but he has been ordered to remain out of trouble.

Ian Milton appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court on Thursday after being arrested on May 2 for behaving in an aggressive manner towards his partner Kayleigh Martin.

The court was reminded that Milton had appeared from custody days after his arrest and told to remain away from his home after admitting he had behaved in a threatening manner.

When he appeared for sentencing on Thursday Milton, of Carnie Place in Buckie, said through his solicitor that the period of the ban was “the worst experience of his life”.

After taking into account a plea from Ms Martin, Sheriff David Hall told Milton that he could now return to the family home. Sheriff Hall said that sentence would be deferred for six months during which time Milton would be expected to be of good behaviour.
