OPEN AIR THEATRE is returning to Moray this summer with two performances by the highly acclaimed London Contemporary Theatre later this month.
Gordon Castle in Fochabers will provide the perfect backdrop for a performance of the Wind in the Willows – a family production to be played out in the 8.5acre Walled Garden.
That will be played out in the afternoon of Saturday, July 25 – while in the evening of the same day the cast will present a performance of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.
Audience members are invited to bring along rugs and blankets, pack a picnic and take in the tranquil, fragrant surroundings of the garden in full bloom while they enjoy the show.
Both productions will use live original music to bring classical theatre to contemporary audiences, while actors will also be engaging with audience members, providing what will be exciting and evocative theatre.
Zara Gordon Lennox of Gordon Castle said: “We are really excited to be hosting this event, something that isn’t often seen in this part of the North East.
“Both performances will be set in the heart of our Walled Garden, which at this time of year is absolutely captivating, bursting with colours and fragrance from our plants and flowers.
“These events are not just for theatre fans; it will be special experience in itself watching the plays in the unique setting of the Walled Garden.
“You can just sit back and relax, grab a drink from the bar and take it all in. We will definitely have our tartan rug set down!”
Tickets for the performances are available to buy from the Gordon Castle Scotland website. The Wind in the Willows, performing at 2pm, is priced at Adults £10.50, Children £7.50 and a Family Ticket £29.
For Twelfth Night at 7.30pm tickets are Adults £12.50, Concessions £10.50 and Children £7.50.
