Customers of a popular Moray technology firm are being reassured that they will continue to honour existing maintenance guarantees when they close their doors for the last time today.

Ill health and trading difficulties at their current premises have forced Moray IT to close their Blackfriars Road shop – but plans are already in place to create a new business in the town at a more central location, where existing and new customers will receive the same high level of service they have become accustomed to.

Speaking on behalf of the firm Lee Barton said: “Long term illness of the business owner exasperated problems we have always had with the business at its current location, which is just a little out of the way for most people.

“While this has ultimately caused the business to cease trading we have no intention of letting existing customers down – so those who have service agreements with us can be assured that they will be honoured.”

That will be achieved through a new business being created by Lee with premises already identified elsewhere in Elgin.

Lee explained: “I will use existing staff from Moray IT and as owner of the new business will take control of all aspects of the new firm.

“I would expect to be able to announce the final details of when that will be ready to open very soon. At this stage I would like to thank all our customers for their loyalty in the last few years and we look forward to seeing them and many more at our new venture.”

As well as servicing and supplying complete bespoke IT Systems to businesses and individuals, the new business will branch into other electronic devices including mobile phones and tablets.
