A NEW MILITARY WIVES choir formed at RAF Lossiemouth is seeking help in providing the music to go with their voices.

The 40-member choir appointed a musical director in July however, without an accompanist, the choir will be struggling to perform live.

Caroline Williams, who sings in the choir and is a Senior Aircraftwoman at the Moray air base, said: “Our musical director, Mrs Nicola Moss, can provide live piano accompaniment when we are rehearsing, but when it comes to live performances we really need someone who can play piano proficiently whilst Nicola conducts us.

“We rehearse weekly on Tuesday evenings at RAF Lossiemouth and I’d encourage anyone who might be interested to get in touch with us either by email on Lossiemouth@militarywiveschoir.org or on 07787 437203.

“Our accompanist need not be a serving member of the RAF or married to a serviceman to join us – a good level of musicianship is the most important thing.”

The choir is made up of servicewomen and other staff based at RAF Lossiemouth as well as wives and partners of servicemen – they aim to begin performing in public in the run up to Christmas.
