FORRES IS SET to feature another day of fun with an explosion of arts and creativity on Saturday when the annual Culture Day takes place in the town centre.

Over 80 different events are taking place that will see streets, parks, shops and public buildings around the town come alive.

Artists and performers from throughout Moray and far beyond will be joining hands with local businesses and community groups, offering an array of exhibitions, performances and free have-a-go activities for all the family.

Thanks to a Creative Place Awards grant of £100,000 awarded earlier this year to Findhorn Bay Arts, the Forres event is bigger and better than ever this year.  Culture Day organiser and the director of Findhorn Bay Arts, Kresanna Aigner, commented: “This year Culture Day is bigger and brighter than ever before.

“A huge variety of artists, businesses and groups will be throwing open their doors and inviting people to explore the work that they do throughout the year.

“With over 80 groups and 200 participants taking part, the event demonstrates the incredible range of activity taking place right here on our shores – a true reflection and celebration of our Creative Place.

“Performances by The National Theatre of Scotland and the highly regarded touring children’s theatre company Frozen Charlotte reinforce our recognition as a cultural hub locally and nationally.”

Forres Culture Day takes place on Saturday, September 26 from 11am to 5pm at venues throughout the centre of Forres.
