A MORAY CASTLE is to host the first ever Gin Club Scotland event held in the north east when enthusiasts gather in Fochabers next month.
Gordon Castle is the creator of the multi-award winning Gordon Castle Scotland Gin, while Gin Club Scotland is the first gin touring club in the world, allowing enthusiasts to taste locally made small-batch craft gins alongside much larger and well-known brands.
For the first time the club is to meet in the north east on Friday, October 16 in the Castle at Fochabers where they will enjoy a five-course meal prepared by chefs at the Gordon Castle Café.
Angus Gordon Lennox, owner of Gordon Castle, said: “Inviting Gin Club Scotland to Gordon Castle was a straight forward decision for us.
“They have a ready made gin loving audience and the experience and knowledge to make this a high quality and, most importantly, enjoyable event.
“Our gin has now won five awards and our food has been shortlisted at the Highlands & Islands Food and Drink Awards, so bringing these two successful elements of our business together will hopefully produce something very special indeed.”
Distiller Simon Fairclough, who is the founder of Gin Club Scotland and formerly a consultant for the Johnnie Walker, Cardhu, Talisker and Jura whiskies, added: “We are proud to be joining forces with the award winning team at Gordon Castle Gin – a classic example of a small batch gin with home grown botanicals.
“Our plan is to make sure that wherever we go, gin fans in the area have a chance to sample artisanal gin made right on their doorstep. That’s why we’re on tour, teaming up with the best in the distilling industry and taking that out to the masses.”
Tickets for the event are £45 (£32 for drivers) and can be bought in-store or online from the Gordon Castle Scotland Shop.
