MORAY MOTORISTS WHO regularly head along the A96 between their homes and Inverness are being warned that they face delays next week.

Resurfacing works are to be carried out on the A96 to the east of Nairn as part of a £210,000 improvements plan by Transport Scotland.

The work will affect a 750m section between the Balmakeith Industrial Estate and the roundabout near Auldearn. The work will affect both carriageways so a 10mph convoy system will be in place.

While the work will be undertaken overnight from 7.30pm until 6.30am it is expected to last for four nights.

Bear Scotland’s north east spokesman Andy Thomson said: “We have planned these works to take place overnight to minimise disruption to motorists as much as possible, but we would encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking Traffic Scotland for up to date information.”
