A KIDS CANCER charity has just a few days left in which to attract 6000 new likes to their social media page – and receive a fantastic £10,000 boost.
Solving Kids’ Cancer was approached this week by a benefactor who told them that if they could boost support on their Facebook Page by 10,000 before Christmas Eve, he would match each new like with a £1 donation.
The charity is fronted by Forres toddler Eilidh Paterson, who is the face of their Christmas campaign to raise funds that will help in the fight against a number of childhood cancers. At the weekend Eilidh returned from her latest round of tests and treatment in the United States – with the fantastic news that she remained clear of neuroblastoma.
Now the push is on to take advantage of the offer from the anonymous benefactor is on – but time is running out with Christmas Eve less than 48 hours away – and around 6000 likes still required.
A spokeswoman for the charity said: “To reach our £10,000 target we still need 6000 more likes and time is running out fast.
“Our wonderful donor came into our office at the beginning of December and told us he would like to support our Christmas appeal – but insisted that he had to remain anonymous and to get the full £10,000 we had to have that number of new likes by Christmas Eve. We had over 5000 at the start so still need another 6000 to get the full benefit of the offer.”
The offer was made to the charity just days after they announced Eilidh Paterson would be the ‘face’ of their 2015 Christmas appeal.
People can ‘like’ the page at Solving Kids’ Cancer Europe on Facebook to help boost them towards their £10,000 target.
