MORAY’S TALENTED FIGURE skaters are set to put on the most spectacular show it has ever attempted this weekend.
The Moray Figure Skating Club has been producing Christmas shows for the last 19 years – reflecting the talent at one of the most successful clubs in the country and producer of Scottish champions.
Club coach Graeme Summers said: “Our skaters and our volunteers have worked tremendously hard to put this year’s show together.
“It will be a highly entertaining production for all the family – and a chance for our skaters to show off their many skills. What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than with an ice skating show?
“There will be a bottle stall, chocolate stall, raffle, hot drinks and there’s a good chance Santa will be popping in!”
The show takes place on Friday evening at 6pm and Saturday afternoon at 1.30pm at the Moray Leisure Centre, where the doors open 30 minutes before each show. Spectators are advised to dress warmly.
Tickets for the show are available via morayfigureskatingclub.co.uk, Sound and Vision in South Street, Elgin and on 07974 387326. Proceeds go towards developing and promoting figure skating in Moray.
The club runs ‘learn to skate’ classes for people of all ages and abilities, including raw beginners. Skate hire is provided for classes that are the only National Ice Skating Association approved sessions in Moray. The first week is free.
The club is also hosting a free ‘come and try’ session on Tuesday, December 29 at 4.30pm to 6pm with coaches and volunteers present to help you with your first steps on the ice.
All ages and abilities are welcome – if children are old enough to walk, the club is able to coach them.
