Library help for those who find Tablet and iPad use challenging

Easy for some - but not all!
Easy for some – but not all!

A PROJECT THAT attracted a Challenge Fund award of almost £10,000 last year is calling on those around Buckie, Elgin and Forres who need help with their Tablet or iPad to get in touch.

The Buckie and Forres Libraries are running ‘Get DigITAL’ clubs each week that will offer help to people with a Tablet or iPad but remain confused on how to use them to their full advantage.

Installing and using Apps are covered as well as use of Skype, Facetime or Google Hangouts – with people who own tablets invited to take them along and allow volunteers with the knowledge to show them how it is all done.

Get Digital clubs gained the challenge fund award last year aimed at targeting older people, those with disabilities, job seekers or simply those with little or no computing experience to get the best from the technology.

The clubs are meeting every Wednesday at the Buckie Library from 10am until 12noon, while they meet in the Forres and Elgin Libraries on Thursday’s from 2pm until 4pm.
