Community care recipients encouraged to check in at Roadshows

Elgin Library will host first self-directed support roadshow.
Elgin Library will host first self-directed support roadshow.

ROADSHOWS AIMED AT raising awareness throughout Moray on how those eligible for community care can have a greater say on the care they receive are being held throughout the remainder of this month.

The sessions will focus on self-directed support, the new means of providing services that puts the individuals themselves in control.

Recognising that individuals are best placed to say what makes a difference to them, their families and carers, Moray Council says that it has been striving to empower such individuals, giving them greater choice.

The roadshow will visit Libraries in Elgin, Buckie, Forres, Aberlour and Keith from next week until the end of the month.

Anyone wishing to know more about self-directed support is being invited to attend, as are those who may already be in receipt of such support or direct payments and might have questions they required answers to.

For those who cannot make it to the roadshows a direct contact is available through Michelle Fleming at Moray Council on 01343 567080 or by contacting their own social worker or community care officer.
