THOUSANDS ARE EXPECTED to arrive in Lossiemouth next month for the third annual Seafest – a week-long festival culminating in the popular Food Fayre and Fun Day.

Seafest 2016 will kick off with the Seafest Supper at the Stotfield Hotel on July 2 at 6.30pm with welcome drinks followed by dinner at 7pm and entertainment provided by popular local band ‘Bedhead’.

“The Seafest Supper has proven to be very popular over the last two years,” Donna Milne, who chairs the Lossiemouth Community Development Trust who organise the annual event. She added:

“Tickets at £50 will include dinner, a bottle of wine per couple and welcome drinks.

The dinner is preceded by the opening event of Seafest this year, a ‘Taster’ day at Marine Park that includes free tennis lessons for children. The Festival will also feature a Pet Show at Station Park on Tuesday, July 5 while the following day there will be afternoon tea and a floral display in the Lossiemouth Town Hall from 2pm.

On the West Beach at 10.30am on Thursday, July 7 the Sandcastle Competition returns, with prizes on offer for the best family sculpture, family sandcastle, children’s sandcastle and children’s sculpture. That evening a children’s disco is being held at the Lossiemouth Sports and Social Club with games, glitter tattoos and fancy dress.

The week will end with the Food Fayre and Fun Day on Station Park with dozens of stalls, entertainment, a food court and licenced area, lifeboats, Morayvia, Military Wives choir, Pipe Bands and a variety of demonstrations throughout the day.
