THE MOST FAMOUS CIRCUS in the world is set for a return visit to Moray next month with a show that is bigger and better than ever before.
Elgin has the honour of being only the second Scottish stop for the Moscow State Circus (MSC) as part of their European tour this summer, which takes in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness, Stirling and Dundee.
For this tour the show is based on the Russian folklore story of Cvetik-Semicvetic or “the flower of seven colours” by Valentin Petrovich Katayev. In this version each of the petals represents a wish – and provides the perfect backdrop for what is undoubtedly the greatest and most famous circus on earth.
A spokeswoman for the MSC told insideMoray: “Wizard Wacko and his crazy side kick Natalia Mecentceva will invite the Moray audience to a wondrous and mysteries enchanted garden. It is a place where dreams come true and a place to see magnificent feats of human achievement – the like of which has never been witnessed in the UK before.
“Wizard Wacko will guide the audience through this tantalizing tale, granting wishes to the beautiful Kushka Veslovskaya who plays Zhenya, surrounded by a multitude of flying, back flipping, juggling, wire walking and roller-skating performers.”
On this visit the MSC show will include the award-winning Stynka on the ‘horizontal bouncing Russian bar’, roller skating revolutions from Veslovskiy and the Trio Atlas on floating globes. Wirewalker Olga Rozhkovskaya will have spectators holding their breath while the Moscow flying jugglers and Dinamic Diablos are set to encapsulate the big top audience.
The Moscow State Circus will be at Lossie Green from Wednesday, July 6 until Monday, July 11 with shows on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7.45pm, on the Friday and Saturday at 3pm, at 6pm on the Saturday evening and at 2pm and 5pm on the Sunday and Monday.
