FIRE AND RESCUE Services moved quickly to lead one casualty to safety following a blaze at a home in Elgin at the weekend.

Appliances were called out at 6.30am on Sunday morning when reports came in that a home on Robertson Drive had caught fire.

Two appliances were despatched from the local station in Elgin while a third was called in from Lossiemouth. All three left the scene after attending the blaze for an hour.

Some occupants of the building were treated for smoke inhalation but none required hospital treatment.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Service said: “One casualty had to be led to safety by our officers while another had already left the property.”

Speaking for the Scottish Ambulance service who also attended the scene, a spokesman said: “A local crew did attend but nobody was required to go to hospital.”
