THREE MORAY BREWERIES have once again joined to organise the largest beer festival in Moray, attracting visitors from across the North East of Scotland and beyond.

Following two previous hugely successful events in 2013 and 2015, which together attracted over 2400 visitors and raised £14,000 for local charities, Moray Moktoberfest 2016 is set to be even bigger and better than ever.

This year’s event takes place in Elgin Town Hall on the evening of Friday, September 30 – and continues all day on Saturday, October 1, when a huge range of real ales, ciders, gins, wine and soft drinks with a particular focus on producers from the North East of Scotland will be celebrated.

There’ll be live music all day, including the ever popular Moray Stein Brass, encouraging everyone to raise a glass and drink a toast to good cheer – “Oans, zwoa, drei, G’suffa!”

New for the third Moktoberfest will be a hog roast to keep everyone well fed throughout the event, along with our traditional local butchers’ sausages, all competing to be voted official sausage of the festival.

Every visitor receives a festival glass, beer tokens and a colour programme. Limited numbers of tickets will be available for early birds to purchase in advance, see website for details.

Most tickets will be available from the door on a first come, first served basis. We’ll let new people into the party as others leave so there’ll be plenty of time for everyone to enjoy the great day/night out.
