THERE WAS A DOUBLE success for Moray finalists in the glittering Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards (SHABA) held in Glasgow earlier this week.
Fochabers based Kerry McKay from Purity Health & Well Being took the top prize as Best Sports Massage – while the best Male Stylist award went to Elgin’s Gordon Cruickshank from Hair and Body Mechanics.
The Moray pair mixed with the high profile celebrities at the awards in the Radisson Blu Hotel – including Calum Best, George Lamb and Seann Miley Moore. Kerry and Gordon beat off high-class competition from throughout Scotland to claim their awards.
Kerry said: “I think we did Moray proud! It was a fantastic experience – my award was presented to me by Calum Best – and the entertainment was provided by Seann Miley Moore, who X-Factor fans will know very well.
“I was thrilled as well for my friend Gordon who took the Best Male Stylist award having been on the shortlist of six very talented people.”
SHABA is open to salons and businesses throughout Scotland who have been selected by members of the public to compete for the awards. They aim to recognise and reward talent and skills shown by dedicated industry professionals.
