PEOPLE OF ALL AGES are being invited by Moray Council’s Heritage Service to a showcase event in the Elgin Library on October 1.
From 10am until 4pm that day families, young people and adults are invited to go along and find out about resources and services currently being made available by the service – including its archives and an online index of its collections.
The one-day event is being supported by the National Library of Scotland who will provide talks and workshops in a full programme that begins with a puppet-making workshop.
Over the following hours children will be able to help build a castle, create a medieval charter or join in on the Library treasure hunt.
Adults are not being left out – there will be family history taster sessions, Moray’s War and Heritage displays and even a Heritage afternoon tea sponsored by Cobbs Café. The event will include a talk by Paula Williams, the National Library for Scotland map and mountaineering curator on ‘Mapping Scotland’s History’.
To book a place on the puppet workshop, family history taster sessions, Paula Williams talk or heritage afternoon tea, call telephone Elgin library on 01343 562602.
