MORAY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE’s CEO was involved this week in the opening of the London Stock Exchange alongside Moray’s MP.

Angus Robertson, the SNP’s leader at the UK Parliament, opened the Stock Exchange and was delighted that the contribution made to the UK economy by his home constituency was recognised.

The opening ceremony followed on from an event on Tuesday evening hosted by Mr Robertson alongside Scottish Chamber of Commerce representatives to promote the best of Scottish business.

The MP said: “It was great to meet Scottish Chamber of Commerce representatives and to showcase some of Scotland’s best businesses.

“The Chamber of Commerce representatives included Moray’s Sarah Medcraf and having such a strong and iconic food and drink sector in Moray makes the promotion of our industries all the easier.

“Our whisky and food producers are world renowned and provide large scale employment, not just directly but also to many supply chain businesses.

“Promotion of these businesses and many other key sectors from industrial to retail is a job of work that MPs should be constantly behind. Healthy commerce drives wealth creation and provides the income to deliver key public services such as universal free healthcare in the NHS and free education.”
