No casualties as 26 Firefighters attend Burghead home blaze

FIRE APPLIANCES FROM Lossiemouth, Buckie and Elgin were rushed to Torridon in Burghead on Saturday morning.

A total of 26 firefighters were employed in tackling a house fire on the relatively new estate in the Moray town.

An SFRS spokesman said that they were alerted to the emergency at 8.40am and despatched crews to the scene – the four jets and a hose reel brought the blaze under control by 10.20am with no other properties believed to have been affected.

The spokesman added there crews were not required to carry out any rescues and that there were no casualties from the blaze.
