MORAY’S SNP PARLIAMENTARIANS are to join hundreds of groups and individuals this week in hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning.
Part of the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’, the events aim to raise funding for Macmillan Cancer Care, one of the most important Cancer charities in the UK.
It will be the second successive year that Angus Robertson MP and Richard Lochhead MSP will be hosting a coffee morning at their offices at 9 Wards Road in Elgin – it will be held on Friday from 10.30am until 12.30pm.
Mr Robertson said: “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning continues to be a fantastic fundraising and awareness raising event for Macmillan.
“Across Moray there will be many events taking place from large workplaces to small businesses and people hosting events for friends and neighbours in their front room.
“It is a sad fact that everyone has a friend or relative who has been affected by cancer and it is so important for patients and their families to get the best support available. Macmillan make a huge contribution to cancer care, from diagnosis through to either end of life or for many years after patients get the all-clear, and I am delighted to be able to host a coffee morning in the Parliamentary Office as a way of raising some much needed funds for them.”
His Holyrood colleague Richard Lochhead added: “I am once again looking forward to hosting our Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday and welcoming visitors to the Parliamentary Office for tea, coffee and some fantastic home baking!
“The World’s Greatest Coffee Morning is a great fundraiser for a great cause and I would urge folk to get along to a coffee morning near them and if that’s the Parliamentary Office then I look forward to meeting you!”
