A MORAY GROUP is marking 35 years of support for a leading cancer charity by hosting a major event later this month.

The Elgin and District Macmillan Cancer Support group will host a Ball at the Mill House of Tynet Hotel on Friday, October 28.

Through the last 35 years the group has raised almost £1.4million for Macmillan – and with the help of STV’s Nicola McAlley, who has agreed to act as compere for the evening, they hope to add significantly to that total.

A spokeswoman told insideMoray: “The owners of the Mill House has generously donated the use of this stunning venue which will encompass a generously donated ElGin cocktail on arrival and a four course dinner provided by the Hotel.

“During the evening there will also be an auction which will feature an overnight stay for two at the Roxburgh Hotel and Golf Course and Tornado and Typhoon simulator experiences provided by Thales.

“Also on offer is a Spa Day for two at the Golf View Hotel Nairn, an on-hour flight for four courtesy of Highland Aviation and Dalcross Holdings and a half day driving experience for two in a Caterham 7, courtesy of Highland Caterham Hire.”

Other donations for the fundraising effort on the evening includes a 30-year-old Glenfiddich and a cookery course at the Oakwood Cookery School.

Tickets for the small and exclusive event will be very limited and are available now at £60 – with the organisers asking that those interest in taking a table or individual places for the event contact them by Tuesday, October 4.
