Talks in Dufftown and Forres on the Falconer Collection.

MORAY COMMUNITIES ARE being offered an opportunity to learn more about an important historical collection that has been held in Moray for generations.

Two talks on the treasures that make up the collections of the Falconer Museum – both on display and held in archive – are to take place next week.

Staff from the Forres museum will deliver the talks with the aid of a short film on the museum’s founder, the Victorian geologist and palaeontologist Dr Hugh Falconer.

Included will be a selection of ‘mystery objects’ from the Museum’s vast collection of artefacts.

The presentations will take place at Dufftown library on Wednesday, November 2 at 3pm and then at the Forres library on Thursday, November 3 at 7pm.

Falconer Museum officers Liz Trevethick and Anne Owen will deliver the talks – both events are free of charge.
