Youth Council seek new members in Moray’s secondary schools

EVERY MORAY SECONDARY SCHOOL is being visited by representatives of the Moray Youth Council in a hope to recruit new members.

Several schools have already received visits as the group underline their role in ensuring that the voices of young people in the region are heard and participate in local and national government issues affected them.

The council elect representatives for the Scottish Youth Parliament – these are currently 19-year-old Laura Smith from Findochty and 17-year-old Ellie Pearce from Darnaway.

Previous elections for the Youth Council has shown strongest support at Buckie High School and Forres Academy – but the Council are now hoping that they can drum up a great deal more support for their activities from young people at other schools.
