A little wonderland magic set to be spread over Hopeman

Hopeman stage is set for Alice in Wonderland.

HOPEMAN WILL BE WONDERLAND in just a couple of weeks as the local Dramatic Society make their final preparations for the village annual pantomime.

A £3500 grant gained by the Hopeman society last year from the Money for Moray scheme will ensure Alice in Wonderland is that bit easier to perform, the cash allowing the purchase of new equipment that will be put to good use when the show opens on January 19.

“Everyone has been rehearsing very hard for months now and we are all excited that we are just a couple of weeks away from our performance,” Panto director Lara Beach told insideMoray.

She added: “The Money for Moray funding has allowed us to replace old lighting and make some very big changes to our sound system, We had people working through the Christmas and New Year holiday to make sure everything was prepared – including a ‘panto painting day’ where lots of lovely people turned out to help us prepare for the show.”

Lara is being joined by husband David to direct the panto, which will open with a 7pm performance on January 19 following by a performance the following day at the same time and then two performances at 1pm and 5.30pm on Saturday, January 21.

Tickets are available now from Costcutters store priced at £5 for adults and £3 for children aged up to Primary 7.
