A PUBLIC CONSULTATION exercise will be carried out over proposals by Moray Council to redraw catchment areas for Buckie High and Keith Grammar schools for the Cullen area.
Currently the Cullen Primary catchment zone is split between the two secondary schools – however, the proposed new boundary will be further south, at a point roughly midway between Buckie and Keith.
Communities at Deskford, Berryhillock and Hoggie will see the greater change as they transfer into the Buckie High School catchment area.
Moray Council’s children and young people’s services committee agreed on Wednesday to put the proposals out to public consultation which will run from February 1 to March 17.
As part of the consultation a public meeting will be held at Cullen Primary School on Tuesday, February 7 at 7pm.
A consultation paper explaining the proposal in detail will be available on the council’s website at www.moray.gov.uk/rezoning from February 1 and paper copies will be available from Keith Grammar School, Buckie High, Cullen Primary, Cullen library and the Moray Council access point in Elgin.
