THOUSANDS OF ASDA shoppers in Moray could be missing out on a unique discount bonus – simply because they throw away their till receipt!
An insideMoray reader has this week asked that we remind those who shop at any of local Asda branches that a simple online check with their till receipt can often as not produce a money-off voucher the next time they visit.
She told insideMoray: “For several years now Asda has been operating a ‘Smile and Save’ price guarantee that, as far as I’m aware, no other store comes close to offering.
“That is based on the premise that Asda’s like for like prices on grocery items will be at least 10% cheaper than four leading Supermarket chains – Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons and Waitrose. That works regardless of the fact that Moray shoppers don’t have access to two of these stores.
“After every shop I always put my receipt number in – and have, as a result, produced vouchers of everything from 5p to well over £4.
“I’m pretty sure that if more people knew about this or bothered to check they would be pleasantly surprised – I just shop for myself and my husband, I’m sure large families will have a much bigger shopping bill – and so a greater chance of bigger savings.
“The one snag is that customers will only obtain vouchers under the guarantee if they are also signed up for an Asda Groceries Home Shopping account – but registering for that is quick, easy and costs nothing.”
