Thankfully there were no injuries reported after over 20 firefighters were called to tackle the fire in The Square.

Crews arrived to tackle the incident on the first floor of a building shortly after midnight and remained at the scene for over four hours.

It is understood that three Scottish Fire and Rescue Service appliances from Keith, Fochabers and Huntly were in attendance, with a SFRS spokeswoman saying: “It was a two-storey building.

“The fire was well alight through the ceiling – we had three appliances as well as a height vehicle and a water carrier.

“The last appliance didn’t leave until 4.55am but the first appliance left at 4.05am, there were no injuries relating to this incident.”
