MORAY RESIDENTS ARE being advised that a six-week consultation period is to be undertaken on draft development plans for five sites allocated for housing in the Moray Development Plan.
The sites in Burghead, Hopeman, Aberlour, Elgin and Forres will be discussed in consultations that start on January 30 and will be concluded on March 10.
Draft development briefs for each set out the design standards for future development of the sites which developers will be expected to reflect in future planning applications. The briefs do not revisit the principle of development on the sites as this has already been established through the local Development Plan.
The design standards set out in the draft development briefs reflect Scottish Government policy and the council’s own placemaking policy and guidance to ensure that high quality development is delivered on the ground.
Comments on the briefs can be submitted by Email to localdevelopmentplan@moray.gov.uk of by post to Moray Council, Planning and Development, PO Box 6760, High Street, Elgin IV30 9BX.
Responses to the consultation, along with the final development briefs, will be presented to a future meeting of the council’s planning and regulatory services committee.
The development briefs, which will be a material consideration in the determination of any forthcoming planning applications, can be viewed at www.moray.gov.uk/developmentbriefs or at local libraries.
