THE WINTER STORMS that have arrived in Moray in recent days have taken a high-profile victim with local radio broadcasters Keith Community Radio having to go off-air.
With their transmitter perched as high as possible to allow coverage throughout Moray, the downside for the community station is that presents difficulties when things go wrong.
The station went off air for normal radio listeners today – however, they have stressed that for anyone still wishing their local radio fix, it is still possible to listen via their internet broadcast or via mobile apps such as TuneIn.
Apologising to listeners this morning, KCR Chairman John Seivwright said: “Our transmitter is on an exposed hilltop which provides great radio coverage of the Moray area but makes it difficult to access during bad weather.
“We hope to be able to get back on air on Monday and would apologise to all of our listeners meantime.”
