Focus on Moray child protection services at open forum

LOCAL RESIDENTS WHO have questions over how child protection services are provided in the region are being invited to an open forum next week.

Milne’s Area Forum are behind the event that seeks to inform and discuss with local people on a variety of social and welfare decisions being taken by Moray Council.

It is one of several such groups covering the entire region under the guidance of the Moray Community Planning Partnership – although some areas are currently not operating area forums with residents being invited to do so.

Milne’s covers Fochabers, Mosstodloch, Lhanbryde, Garmouth, Kingston, Urquhart, Spey Bay, the Dallachys and surrounding areas – more information on area forums and the communities that do not currently operate one are detailed online at http://www.moray.gov.uk/moray_standard/page_91545.html.

The next open forum organised by the Milne’s group is being held on February 21 in the Lhanbryde Community Centre, and will see Moray Council’s Sam Coull talking on provision of child protection services in Moray.

A Milne’s Area Forum spokesman said: “This provides an opportunity for local people to find out more about child protection in Moray and a chance to raise any issues or concerns that they might have – Sam Coull’s talk will be followed by a question and answer session.”

Anyone seeking further information on the forum should call 01343 843025 and leave a message.
