A POPULAR MORAY HOTEL is appealing for community groups or clubs to contact them for information on funding of up to £25,000.
The Crerar Hotels Trust, who own the Eight Acres Hotel & Leisure Club, helps a number of charities and community projects in Scotland and Yorkshire each year, using a proportion of revenue gained by the local hotels to benefit local causes.
One Moray group has in the past already greatly benefited from the scheme, the Elgin Youth Development Group having picked up £17,600 for the Trust’s funds.
Chloe Andrews, the leisure and spa manager of the groups Eight Acres Hotel & Leisure Club in Elgin, is now hoping to hear from Moray charities and groups who could benefit from the Trust in future.
She said: “Crerar Hotels Trust is a charitable trust funded by the Crerar Hotel Group and giving back to local communities to improve the quality of everyday lives is at the heart of the business – our motto is ‘Hotels with Heart and Soul’”

“Each year almost half of the hotel profits are entrusted to the Crerar Hotels Trust for distribution to charities and community projects local to our Hotels.
“Now the Crerar Community Prize has been launched again for 2017 and this fund will be awarded to a local community project which brings together young and old people in a meaningful way.
“Consideration will be given to any proposal which will result in ongoing interaction between the generations in a community within one hour’s drive of any Crerar Hotel.
“The criteria are intentionally loose to allow communities to develop creative ideas which will work for them. We invite anyone interested to pop along to our information afternoon on Wednesday, March 15 from 4pm to 7pm at the Eight Acres Hotel & Leisure Club.
“Our team will be on hand to provide more details and help with the application process.”
