A GROUP OF Moray students are set to put their newly learned event management skills to good use by raising funds for a local charity.
Next Wednesday (March 1) students studying for the BAH Event Management degree at Moray College UHI are to host a fundraising quiz in support of the local branch of Marie Curie.
The charity that provides hands-on nursing care support for those who are suffering from terminal illness has said they are delighted that the students are once again offering their support. Marie Curie will be providing an array of information at the event that provides an insight into their work in Moray.
Vonnie Carson, who is a Marie Curie fundraising group member in Moray, said: “We are delighted to have the support of the Event Management students again this year.
“It’s an important part of their course to work with others in creating their own event and a wonderful way to spread the word of the work our nurses do locally- and to an audience that perhaps may not normally have much to do with the charity.”
Doors will open at the Beechtree Restaurant in the College on Elgin’s Moray Street at 6pm with the main event beginning an hour later. There will be a bar available for refreshments throughout the evening and as well as a raffle table, with an array of generous donations from businesses in the area.
Teams of four maximum are required to sign up prior to the event for the quiz – and pay an entry fee of £5 per person. Entry into the quiz also includes a complimentary buffet.
