Almost 400 have their say on new school period plan

THE MORAY COUNCIL Survey looking at plans to introduce a new 33-period week in all secondary schools has generated almost 400 responses.

The local authority launched the survey as part of their consultation on the proposals for which people have another week – until Friday, May 19 – to take part.

A number of education authorities throughout Scotland are already operating 32 and 33-period weeks but in Moray the timetables have remained firmly based on 30-periods.

Those who support the idea insist that it would provide a greater level of flexibility and help both develop and enhance the secondary school curriculum.
