Fashion show will seek to boost funding for local Samaritans

THE MORAY BRANCH of national charity Samaritans is set to benefit from a special fashion show at an Elgin store next week.

Elgin Samaritans is the local branch of the national charity that offers a safe place for people to talk to when they are facing difficult times.

Samaritans can help people explore all their options and help them to understand their problems better – or just be there to listen. The network has 20,000 volunteers in its 201 branches over five nations, with the Moray-based branch very much involved in providing a vital service to the local community.

Fundraising for the service is vital, the Elgin branch being entirely self-funded and requiring to raise around £5000 each year to ensure that they can continue to provide their round-the-clock service to the community.

For the fashion event the local branch of M&Co on Elgin’s High Street are to host the latest in their clothing range at 6.30pm on Wednesday, May 10 at 6.30pm. Tickets for the event, priced at just £5, are available now from the store with all proceedings going to Elgin Samaritans. Tickets can also be booked by calling 07496 335550.
