Mylin aims to clean up – and provide new jobs in Moray

A DOMESTIC CLEANING business in Moray is hoping to expand and recruit new staff after coming under new owners.

‘Merry Maids of Moray’ has grown to become one of the leading domestic cleaning companies in the region, which, under previous owner Bill Grant, was a Franchisee of the Year winner in 2016.

Now Mylin Lasham has taken over the Moray business while Bill has moved on to run a similar franchise in Inverness.

Mylin, who came to Moray with her RAF husband and decided with their family to settle here, has grown extensive experience in managing cleaning contracts – now she aims to put that to good use in growing her own business with a view to recruiting new staff to handle an increase in demand.

“With my husband based locally in the RAF and my children settled here, it was the logical step to put my skills into practise and purchase the business,” she told insideMoray this week, adding: “We are excited for the challenge and looking forward to the future of Merry Maids of Moray.”

The business is a franchise of ServiceMaster Ltd, who have been operating throughout the UK for 55 years and currently have almost 70 franchisees throughout the UK.

Merry Maids brand operations manager, Catriona Berry, said: “Mylin has taken on her business just at the right time with spring cleaning season in full swing. We are confident of a great future for Mylin and her family with Merry Maids.”
