DANCING THEIR WAY to success once again this year the team behind Lossiemouth’s Seafest are gearing up for another culinary delight.
Thousands have flocked to the coastal town in each of the last three years as the Festival has proven to be a smash-hit with visitors and locals alike.
Formed in 2014, Seafest has achieved its aim of bringing the community of Lossiemouth together for a celebration of the town’s fishing heritage. It has grown each year as new concepts and ideas have been introduced.
This year the week-long festival runs from Saturday, July 1 until Sunday, July 9 – Saturday, July 8 is when the Seafest Food Fayre and Family Fun Day takes place.
The Seafest Supper on July 1 – and this year that is taking a major step in a new direction, thanks to ‘Strictly Lossiemouth’ being at the centre of the opening event.
Chair of the Seafest Committee, Donna Milne, said: “We are very excited about our opening event -Fiona Sneddon, who leads the Strictly team, was brought up in a well-known fishing family going back generations.
“Fiona has volunteered her time to the celebration the heritage that she remembers well as she grew up. With husband Ian and the Strictly Lossiemouth dancers she will perform in the marquee from 6pm on July 1 for an evening that is not to be missed.
“Guests will be welcomed with a drink on arrival, this will be followed by a Seafood supper of freshly caught local fish cooked and served by the 1629 restaurant. For those not keen on fish we will have a selection of meat and chicken.”
