A MORAY SALON that has already clinched one trade magazine title as the best of its kind in the country is in line for an even more prestigious UK-wide award.
Lossiemouth’s KAM Hair & Body Spa clinched the ‘Salon Business’ magazine award as best business salon of the year last month.
Now it has been announced they have again been nominated in two categories for Hairdressers Journal International (HJ) British Hairdressing Business Awards.
HJ reaches out to 245,745 professional UK hairdressers working at 35,000 salons – as such it is regarded as a major honour just to be shortlisted in one of their award categories, far less two.
KAM has been shortlisted as both the Customer Care and Retail Salon of the Year categories, with the winners being announced at a grand finale in the Lancaster London hotel in September.
KAM’s owner Karen Thomson said: “Showing that we are a serious business contender is important for us, we are naturally known for our creativity as hairdressers, but the art of commerce is key to any successful business and we are delighted to be recognised by HJ’s award system in this way.
It’s a great hair day for us and our team to shine within such a massive industry and also to be able to fly the flag of excellence for Lossiemouth.”
Hairdressers Journal International’s executive director Jayne Lewis-Orr added: “It is a great honour to have salons like KAM Hair & Body Spa within the industry, they are setting a new benchmark for other salons to follow.
“It is because of businesses like this that the UK hairdressing industry retains its position as the most highly esteemed in the world.
“British hairdressing is one of this country’s most positive business messages and of that we are incredibly proud, in the hands of these phenomenal business thinkers we can see why.”
