BUCKIE IS SET to go classic next month when the annual gathering of cars old and very old gather in the town to show off a little – and put some cash into local charity coffers.
The Buckie Classic Car Show will be held on Sunday, August 27 – and organisers are inviting old and new owners to contact them and book a slot.
A spokesman for the event told insideMORAY: “This is for classic, modern classic, future classic cars – going on previous years we are expecting over 200 entries – with lots to see and do for everyone.
“Some of the finest motor vehicles in the north east will join a wide selection of trade stands, music, fair rides, husky dogs – and even a few belly dancers. It is all for local charities around Buckie – last year we managed to raise £3000 and we hope to at least match that this time around.”
Entrants for the event – which runs from 12noon until 4pm – will donate £5 but in return they receive a ‘goodie bag’ crammed with items that will include a free raffle ticket with the chance to win a Ferrari Experience at the Knockhill Race Circuit. The bag will also include a voucher for free Fish and Chips courtesy of The Codfather.
The spokesman added: “All in it’s a good day out for car enthusiasts and family’s looking to see some lovely cars.
“The Buckie lifeboat will also be attending and they also will be selling raffles for a prize draw – and this year we’re having a ‘Show and Shine’ that will probably appeal to the younger car enthusiast.
“The star of the show will be a very special car which attended the event last year after being discovered wrecked in a barn – this year it will be unveiled having been fully restored to pristine condition.”
