AT JUST 12 YEARS OLD Tamsin Fowlie is continuing to sprint her way towards a promising athletics career with two stunning performances last weekend.
Tamsin, who attends Elgin Academy, competes over 100m and 200m events representing the Elgin Amateur Athletic Club and Moray Road Runners.
On Saturday she was competing at the Scottish Athletics Age Group championships at the Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow.
Watching on was a very proud father Alistair, who reported: “Tamsin was competing for Elgin AAC in both the 100m and 200m and this was her first time competing at this event. She eased through the heats and semi-finals of both events.

“She then went on to win her 100m final in a personal best of 12.87s – crossing the line just 4/100ths in front in the photo-finish. Then later in the day she also won the 200m final – again with a personal best time, 26.75s.”
The wins mean that Tamsin is now both the North District and Scottish Under-13 champion at both the sprint distances.
Tamsin is coached by Elgin AAC’s Scott Hamilton, who has been guiding her through events since April.
Scott and the club enjoyed a highly successful weekend at the Championships as there was also Gold for Siobhan Kingham in the U20 Triple Jump with a personal best of 12.04m, and a Silver for Hannah Kingham in the U15 Javelin – once again with a personal best of 33.07m.
