Growing network for older people is having a B.A.L.L.

THE GROWING NETWORK of groups in Moray concerned with health and wellbeing activities for older people has continued to flourish.

There are now 22 ‘Be Active Live Long’ (BALL) groups in Moray – all going from strength to strength with older people enjoying gentle exercise, socialising and enjoying a chat over a cuppa.

Spread throughout the region, BALL groups attract both men and woman keeping communities connecting, supported and physically active.

A spokeswoman said: “The popularity and demand for BALL groups have seen lengthy waiting lists especially for the Elgin community.

“Therefore, in response to this demand, the Community Wellbeing Development Team (CWDT) within Health and Social Care Moray are supporting the development of the New Elgin TOO BALL group, resulting in four BALL groups operating in Elgin.

“A taster day has been arranged for Thursday, August 24 from 9.30am until 12.30pm in the New Elgin & Ashgrove Hall on Land Street – refreshments will be provided.”

The main New Elgin Too BALL group will then run on Thursday’s from 10am until 12 noon, costing just £2.50 a week.
